General Questions

A traditional basic jump box requires administrators to manually manage target account credentials and offers limited auditing. AllSafeX is a full JumpHost and Bastion Server solution providing credential vaulting (injecting passwords without revealing them to users), multi-factor authentication, high-risk command filtering, live session mirroring, and full terminal playback recordings.

Yes. AllSafeX natively supports Windows Server targets via RDP through the AllSafeX Remote Desktop Gateway. Network switches and routers (Cisco, Juniper, Arista) are supported via SSH and Telnet protocols.

Deployment & Operations

Yes. AllSafeX does not require continuous internet connectivity to operate. Container images can be exported and imported into isolated air-gapped environments, and local TOTP MFA functions without internet access.

PostgreSQL 14, 15, and 16 are officially supported. Managed cloud databases like AWS RDS PostgreSQL, Google Cloud SQL, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL are fully compatible.

Desktop Client Questions

Installing the .deb package on Linux or .msi package on Windows requires administrative elevation. Once installed, normal day-to-day operation of the application runs entirely in unprivileged user space.

Yes. The AllSafeX-1.0.0.msi installer is built specifically for automated enterprise deployment via Group Policy (GPO), Microsoft Intune, or SCCM/MECM using standard silent flags (msiexec /i AllSafeX-1.0.0.msi /qn).

Security & Compliance

By default, recordings are written to /opt/allsafex/data/recordings on the host system. They can also be automatically offloaded to Amazon S3, MinIO, or an enterprise NFS storage mount.
